Brief Introduction:
Prof. CHEN Lihong has been working in Bee Research Institute of CAAS and ASAC ever since 1988, in the field of bee products development and nutrition analysis, national apicultural management, studies of Chinese apicultural development mode, studies of international apicultural development and so on.
Prof. CHEN is now the vice president and secretary general of ASAC, head of the National Special Vocation Skill Identification Center, judge of MOA (Ministry of Agriculture) Pollution-free Agricultural Products Safety, editorial board member of Apiculture of China and Journal of Bee; vice president of APIMONDIA Scientific Commission on Beekeeping Technology and Quality, AAA secretary general and vice president of Bee Product Chapter.
Education Background:
1984-1988 (Bachelor) majored in food biochemistry and nutrition in the Branch of Peking University;
2005-2007 (Master) majored in agricultural economy in Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences;
2007-2012 (Doctor) majored in food sciences in Chulalongkorn University of Thailand;
2009 Sept.-Dec. worked on doctoral dissertation program in Liverpool University of England.

Main Achievements:
1. Hosted more than 20 programs of MOA: National Beekeeping Standard Production Model Program, Apis cerena Protection and Use, National Bee Resources Census, Stingless Bee Resources Investigation, Standard Apicultural Terminology, Poverty-alleviation by Beekeeping, Asian Apicultural Development Research and so on.
2. Drafted 16 apicultural policies and regulations including clauses related to Apis cerena in Animal Industry Act, Apicultural regulations and so on.
3. Launched Poverty-alleviation by Beekeeping Program in 6 provinces; established 5 National Honeybee Counties, 1 Bee Product County, 26 Bee Products Safety and Standard Production Bases, 10 Beekeeping Model Cooperatives in 9 provinces and 2 Honey Bases.
4. Supervised the publication of 20 books including Pollution-free Agricultural Products Series—Bee Products, Standard Production Technology of Bee Products and so on.
5. Published more than 70 papers as the first author including “Analysis of Chemical Composition of Propolis from Thailand and Korea”, “Advance in Propolis Research and Propolis Industry in China”, “Study of Asian Apicultural Development in 21st Century” “Study of the International Market of Chinese Honey in 2010”, “ Beekeeping Differences between China and Argentina” and so on.
Has been honored 5 international titles including” Excellent Secretary General in Asia”.
