Brief introduction:
Apiculture Economics and Information Center was established in May 2008 by combining and reforming the editorial office <Apiculture of China> and the apiculture economic research department. Currently, the center is focusing on the apicultural economic management research and the periodical publication as well as the publicity affairs including the institute website maintenance. There are 8 people in the group, 2 of them are associate professors, 1 person has Ph.D. degree and 2 people are masters.
      During the 5-year period, the center has host and undertaken 7 research programs and received 1.06 million RMB grants. The main programs are as follows:
2009-2010: The apiculture industry development, international trade and non-tariff barrier research program.
2009-Present: A subproject on apiculture economics of national apiculture industry technology system construction
2010-Present: Bee products processing, supervision analysis and precaution  
2012: Chinese honeybee pollination investigation and the directing mechanism analysis
2012-2013: Analysis on precaution system of exporting crops detection
2013: Poverty alleviation effect on apiculture industry and mechanism analysis
2014: Bee products quality and safety research based on the production behavior of beekeepers
      Since 2009, more than 40 scientific papers have been published in the high rank academic journals, including 1 on the core journal, 3 CSCI and 8 on the Chinese technology periodicals. The center also published 10 scientific books and more than 20 research reports.
Objectives:
1. to investigate and integrate the apicultural generic and key technology by understanding the requirements of the bee industry
2. to provide comprehensive technical support to the government and public by colleting and analyzing the industry dynamic information
3. to promote the combination of education and research, to enhance the agricultural and apicultural regional innovation ability
Research Focus:
1. Economic research on bee industry
2. Bee pollination economic value evaluation
3. Comprehensive benefits evaluation and supportive policies assessment on apiculture.
4. Analysis of apiculture industry damage caused by abiotic factors and compensation mechanism assessment
5. The influential factors of the consumers` purchase intention to bee products
