Brief introduction:
The center is a national level bee products quality inspection agency of China. It owns 1024m2 building area, and 28 million yuan fixed assets. The center is equipped with 118 state of the art instruments and equipments, such as liquid chromatography time of flight mass spectrometry, isotope mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, etc. The center sets up two departments:the business office and the testing office, and includes 21 staff with 2 professors, 6 associate professors, and 3 research assistants, 9 people obtained Ph.D and Master degrees in the majors of analytical chemistry, pesticide analysis, veterinary drug residues analysis, food science, bee science, special economic animal feeding and sanitary inspection, etc. The center’s business contains the analysis of bee products and other agricultural products, food ingredients, active components, pesticides and veterinary drug residues, heavy metal residues, addictive, micro-organism, biological toxins and genetically modified components.
Objectives:
The center is based on the research and development of testing techniques and process control techniques. It carries out the establishment and standardization of innovative testing methods and quality control methods of pesticides and veterinary drug residue in bee products, biological toxins, persistent environmental contaminant, adulterated features and nutritional components. It provides testing services and justice data for government supervision, enterprise quality control, market trade and scientific research; and technical supports for the improvements of bee products’ quality and safety in China.
