"Luntai White Apricot High-efficiency Liquid Pollination Field Observation Conference" was launched in Luntai, Xinjiang, the main producing area of white apricots on March 26, under the organization of the Institute of Apicultural Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IARCAAS), the Horticultural Institute of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the People's Government of Luntai County.

Luntai white apricot is a special product of Luntai County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and a national geographical indication product. However, the seed setting rate of white apricots is less than 10% due to low temperature in early spring, lack of pollinating insects as well as unreasonable configuration of pollinating trees. This situation has become a bottleneck restricting the development of white apricot industry.

Therefore, the researchers of the IARCAAS were invited to break the bottleneck. Focusing on the major needs in the industry development, they conducted scientific and technological research on white apricot pollination, and initially formed a High-Efficiency Liquid Pollination Technology System for apricot orchards. This technology is a part of the Orchard Bee-Machine Collaborative Safe and Efficient Liquid Pollination Technology, which is a beneficial expansion of the original technology. It is expected to be widely promoted in the future to help the green and high-quality development of Xinjiang's apricot industry.

The conference also received strong support and cooperation from Luntai County Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Western Agricultural Research Center of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Autonomous Region Bee Industry Technical Guidance Station, National High-quality Bee Products Alliance and National Western Fruit Industry Innovation Alliance and other units and related enterprises.
