近日，从院国际合作局获悉，我所申报的国家外国专家局2015年度高端外国专家项目“中国熊蜂种质资源挖掘与利用”（项目编号：GDJ20150326001）获得资助，这是我所继去年获得高端专家项目后的又一次成功。本年度，中国农业科学院共有4个高端外国专家项目获得资助。
    本项目引进专家，Paul H. Williams博士，男，英国人，1959年5月22日出生，1985年剑桥大学博士毕业，现为英国自然历史博物馆生命科学系研究员，Paul主要从事熊蜂分类、生物地理学与资源保护等方面的研究工作。1985年至今，发表论文150余篇，是目前全球最权威的熊蜂分类与保护专家，现为国际自然保护联盟-熊蜂专家组主席。
    预计，Paul此次在华工作3个月时间，和安建东团队合作开展巨熊蜂亚属系统发育与区系特点、云贵高原熊蜂资源现状及其区系特点等方面的研究工作。
    Paul自2007年以来已连续访华8次，目前为蜜蜂研究所客座研究员（2013-2018）。Paul在中国熊蜂分类、资源保护与评价方面给予蜜蜂所较大的帮助，已合作发表论文10篇，具体如下：
